John 4:24: "God is a Spirit. He is love (John 4:8). God's nature and being are spiritual. We believe there is only one living and true God and that the eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity has distinct personal attributes, yet he is still one. We believe God is a spiritual being who is invisible and without a body. He is a divine person who reveals Himself in perfect intellect, emotion, and will.He is the source and personification of all material and spiritual life; He is self-existent; He is eternal in relationship to time; He is unlimited in relationship to the immensity of space; He is immutable in His nature; He is the unity of all existence; and He is consistent in His being, that is, He corresponds in actual fact to His nature and attributes as they are revealed to us.
God the Father: He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men. He is all- powerful, all knowing, omnipresent, omnipotent, and sovereign.
God the Son: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is the Living Word of God. We believe He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was crucified, willingly shedding His blood for the redemption of mankind and forgiveness of sins to all who receive the sacrifice. He was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day He rose from the dead with a glorified body, appeared to His disciples, ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, bringing reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to complete His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present Lord. Agreeing with John 1:14, the Word was made flesh is the miracle of God becoming human yet remaining God. "Word" is the term to describe the deity of Jesus. "Flesh" is the term that speaks of His humanity. To deny either of the deity or humanity of Christ is to deny the truth of the very nature of the God-man.
God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (the Comforter, the Intercessor, the Strengthener, the Standby, the Counselor). He illuminates men to understand truth, and He draws men to the Father. He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. The Holy Spirit work in Creation results in order and is one of the biblical proofs of His deity.
