Am I Too Old for God to Use Me?

Am I Too Old for God to Use Me?

March 2025 - Brenda H Price

Scripture:Isaiah 46:4

4  Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

How many of you ever asked yourself, am I too old for God to Use Me? Did I wait too late to get myself together? Am I making a difference in anybody’s life? Maybe you didn’t really get saved or embrace the true Christian life until you were much older, and now you wonder if perhaps you are too old to be used by God. Well, according to this passage of scripture, you are not! None of us are.

The writer Isaiah writes under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit: “Even to your old age, I am He. And even to gray hairs I will carry you!

· God assures every believer that He will continue to be our God and our provider even through the challenges of old age. He still promises to sustain us and carry us.

Israel had been in the wilderness for over 40 years and many of them were growing old. This verse emphasizes God’s unwavering presence and faithfulness throughout a person’s entire life, even into the latter years. When he mentions gray hairs, he realizes that as we get older, we are simply not going to be able to do all the things we were able to do while we were younger, but His strength will never waver.

When we approach our latter days, it’s easy to look at our inabilities and make excuses why we cannot do certain things.  That’s why it is so important for us to remember to totally depend on Him and not rely on anything we can do.

· He made us. He will bare our burdens and carry us through them.

· He won’t stop caring for us and supporting us. Why? Because He is our creator, protector, provider, and everything we need Him to be.

I think we sometimes forget that we have God walking along side us in every stage and every aspect of our lives. From the moment we were formed, God has been with us throughout our lives. He is there through our struggles, our victories, our ups and our downs, the good times and the bad times.

· He is not a distant observer.

· He is our ever-present help in times of need.

· When we feel weary or weak, He gives us strength.

· When we feel lost, he rescues us.

· When we are worried about life or our children, he is steady working on our problems (even when it doesn’t feel like it, or even when we don’t see any immediate results).

He made us. Not to leave us, but to bless us. He has never left your side. So, the next time you wonder if you matter, or if you are making a difference in your old age: You Are! Simply because the scripture tells us that God is still with you, in you, for you!
